Must make a mental note don't book gigs on hottest day of year.
Can anyone remember the last time we had a hot sunny day that either fell on a Saturday or Sunday? I can't and my boxed B&Q self assembly bar B-Q pays testimony to this , however this is the position we found ourselves in last Sunday at the 3 shoes one of our favorite venues ( I say that to all the venues). Leeds had been basking in temperature well over freezing for at least 3 days, and we antisipated a quiet night.
At 8 oclock as the tumbleweed blew (or floated on hot air currents)across the stage (the floor)we realised it might be the back garden that we were up against in the battle for peoples attention , the place was looking pretty quiet as we looked at our watches deciding what time to start. ......
Must make note dont make introductions too long.
Anywhay the clouds parted (should that be closed).... Im trying to make a short story long.
We had a great night, the locals, who turned up in numbers, did us proud, topped up with a few familiar faces who had left their twizzlers twizzling , we played until we could play no more , even managing a version of Mud's Tiger Feet. Oh and we had to do, I want you to want me, again so one of the bar girls could join in on BV's.
Plenty of singing, dancing and a good night was had by all.
Big thanks to Barry the landlord and we will see you back there soon , hopefuly he will have paid the leccy by then as we had a power cut half way through Hot legs.... only kidding it was our humungus 80k rig shipped in by Trans Am trucking that did the damage.
Check out photies
